Travelling with children
What if I am travelling with children?
Children under the age of 14 years can only travel if accompanied by a person aged 16 years or over who will take full responsibility for them. Special conditions apply to some countries of origin and destination, in particular, France and Portugal.
Infants under the age of 2 years (on the date of departure of the flight concerned) may fly for a small admin charge of GBP 7 / EUR 10.00 / CHF 15 / CZK 231 / NOK 77 / PLN 32 per flight, provided they sit on the knee of a fare paying adult who has responsibility for that infant.
As such, two infants could only travel with two adults who are responsible for their welfare etc. Please note that infants travelling for a small admin charge do not have their own baggage allowance. For children older than 2 years, the price of flights is the same as for adults and it is a safety requirement that they occupy their own seat for take off and landing and when the seatbelt sign is displayed. The minimum age for an infant to be carried by Jet2.com is 14 days after birth, however, carriage of very young infants is always strictly at our discretion.
For your family’s convenience, subject to local conditions, collapsible pushchairs/ buggies may be used up to the aircraft steps/air bridge and can be reclaimed immediately upon disembarkation or at Baggage Reclaim, subject to local conditions.
If you are travelling with a baby it is wise to have extra supplies of necessary infant items in your hand baggage, such as formula milk (subject to airport security restrictions on fluids) and nappies.
Can I use our car seat for my infant?
Passengers travelling with infants or very young children (aged 6 months to 36 months and weight 9-18kg) may be able to use their own car type infant seats, subject to its suitability, onboard our aircraft. Car seats must be front facing and of the type that can be properly secured on the aircraft seat by use of the normal aircraft seat lap straps.
Customers wishing to use their own infant car seats must purchase an aircraft seat which will be charged at the appropriate fare. For safety reasons, a window seat will be allocated, wherever possible. Please be advised that with the number and variety of infant car seats available on the market it is not possible for us to guarantee in advance that any particular seat is suitable for use. In the interests of safety, Jet2.com reserves the right to refuse permission for the use of certain types of car seats on the aircraft or during take off and landing. In these circumstances the infant must be carried on the adults lap (under 2 years) or in a seat using the standard lap belt (2 years and over). Safety is always our first consideration.
Child car seats for use at destinations, may be carried as Outsize checked baggage at no additional cost (subject to its weight, or combined weight with a buggy, not exceeding 10kg), strictly on a limited release basis.
